Our 2018 Christmas Campaign!

We are a small team at Weekend Box and being a socially responsible business is an important part of of our company philosophy. Our aim is to step up as a team delivering small changes that can make a difference to lives of others.

Last year, we decided to give back to our local community by creating our Give a Gift campaign. We pledged to donate a craft box for every gift subscription sold in the run up to Christmas.

We had a shortlist of wonderful North East based charities, and following a vote by our customers, Safe Families for Children were chosen as Weekend Box’s charity partner for Christmas 2018. The response was truly amazing and we are thankful to our club members who voted and shared email appeals to family & friends. One in particular was Iona. Iona, aged 7, had enough club points to redeem for a £10 voucher. Upon hearing about the charity through her Mum, she asked if she could use her voucher to buy boxes to be donated direct to the campaign. We realise how lucky we are to have such generous & kind club members.

Last week we delivered 54 boxes to Safe Families for Children, their Head Office is located just outside of Newcastle, but these boxes will be used to as gifts to children across the UK.

Sonia Daniel, Senior Family Support Manager at Safe Families For Children expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in the campaign "We are extremely grateful to Weekend Box and all of the supporters that voted for Safe Families for Children and we look forward to sharing the generous donations with the many families receiving support from our volunteers."
